Older Persons Consultant Nurse, Aged Care Navigator, Advocate and Author, Coral Wilkinson is a registered nurse specialising in the care of older people and has cared for her own ageing parents. She was an assessor with the Aged Care Assessment Team for nine years, a Clinical Nurse Consultant (older persons) and Nurse Navigator (older persons) with the public sector health system, before launching See Me Aged Care Navigators in April 2019. See Me Aged Care Navigators empowers ageing Australians and their families to understand and navigate aged care and support services in the home. With a solid knowledge of services and Government programs available, the team of clinicians provide a thorough assessment. This places an older person in the best position to get the best outcomes from the aged care system, keeping them at home for longer. Coral is passionate about empowering people with knowledge and ‘know how’ to get the right approvals and timely support for their older loved ones who want to stay at home, so in 2022, she published her first book, ‘My parents are ageing, what the heck do I do”.
